Second Saturdays at FPGROC

A new community

Second Saturdays at Family Promise is a new community we'll create together centered around housing and racial justice. We'll volunteer together and learn alongside one another for the benefit of families facing homelessness.

Location: 142 Webster Ave.
Time: Beginning at 1pm (stay as long as you’d like and are able)

Volunteering will include a host of projects around the Day Center (organizing, cleaning, painting, outdoor clean-up, and eventually renovating the apartments upstairs making them nicer for the families who stay there). It'll also include projects folks can take and work on at home. Learning includes beginning our time together each month with an equity moment, getting to know one another, learning about family homelessness and the underlying reasons it's pervasive and present, and eventually maybe even reading a book together or postcard writing to our local representatives. Also, there will be snacks ... and maybe even potlucks! Where three or more are gathered ... there should be food.
